Expert Tips

  • Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 400°F before you begin.
  • Choose the Right Ramekin: A 10-ounce ramekin works perfectly for this recipe, giving the eggs and cheese just enough room without spilling over.
  • Baking Tips: To keep your eggs from overcooking, start checking them a few minutes before the recommended time. They’re ready when the center is set and no longer jiggles. They’ll continue to firm up for a minute or two after you take them out due to the residual heat.

This my go to dish when I don’t know what to make for supper. Super fast, easy and nummy.

  2. Psadie says:

I made this today and it was absolutely delicious. I left it in the oven for 16 minutes then set for 5 minutes. There was liquid on the top but it was the melted cheeses so I made a slit in the egg and it firmed up but it was definitely cooked. I have noticed that others who deviate from the recipe like using skim milk in place of heavy cream are disappointed. You need the full fat from the cream for the best taste. One/two tablespoons of cream shouldn’t matter. Thanks for the recipe my next will be waffle for one.

  3. Lisa says:

I make this dish once or twice a week for breakfast. I like that I can throw it in the toaster oven while I get ready for the day. It’s pretty satisfying with coffee and toast. Thanks!

  4. Joann says:

The receipies I have tried have been delicious

  5. Ghislaine says:

Hello, I have made this dish several times but with a twist. I follow all the instructions except for the eggs. I don’t mix them but put them in the dish whole then add the other ingredients. I cook them for about the same time and they are delicious. Thank you for this lovely recipe.

  6. Barbara says:

I added green onions and a couple of tablespoons of salmon. The cook time increases by about 5 minutes. It’s a versatile recipe.

  7. Karen Wicker says:

Can this be done in a microwave?

    1. Joanie Zisk says:

We have not tested this recipe in a microwave.

  8. Linda Cordle says:

Can these eggs be made in an air fryer? If so, at what temp and how long?

    1. Joanie Zisk says:

If you’re considering trying cheesy baked eggs in an air fryer, while I haven’t personally tested this method, other readers have mentioned it works well. Keep in mind that air fryers cook quicker than ovens, so you’ll need to adjust the time and temperature accordingly. Begin with a moderate temperature and check the eggs frequently for doneness to avoid overcooking. Your specific air fryer’s model will influence the exact cooking time, so there may be a bit of trial and error the first time you try it. I’d love to hear how it turns out for you!

  9. Anna says:

I put it back in smaller ramekin in oven,it worked. Good
