This easy frozen strawberry daiquiri is the ultimate warm-weather thirst quencher. Filled with strawberries, a classic strawberry daiquiri is easy to make and ready in just 5 minutes!

Sweet, fruity, cold, and refreshing, this easy frozen strawberry daiquiri recipe is one everybody loves. It's made with "real" ingredients - no store-bought daiquiri mix here - and you can absolutely taste the difference!
A daiquiri made from scratch with real frozen strawberries tastes infinitely better than one made with a packaged mix. All you need are a few simple ingredients and a blender and this classic rum drink can be yours in minutes.
Why This Recipe Works
- Made with real strawberries: I use frozen strawberries in our daiquiri recipe which gives it a refreshingly cold, extra-slushy texture.
- Perfectly sweet: Many strawberry daiquiris tend to be overly sweet, but not this one. It's sweetened just enough so that the strawberries really shine through.
- Doubles well: If you'd like to make a second or third daiquiri, just double or triple the ingredient amounts.

Ingredient Notes
- Strawberries: Many strawberry daiquiri recipes use fresh strawberries, but personally, I love the way that frozen strawberries thicken the drink, and using them guarantees that the cocktail stays super cold. Even though I use frozen, you can use fresh strawberries if you prefer.
- Rum: I recommend using white rum for this strawberry daiquiri recipe. White rum has a clean, light flavor that goes well with the fresh flavor of the strawberries. If you've only got dark rum, use it anyway.
- Triple sec: This is an orange-flavored liqueur that originated in France.
- Lime juice: For best flavor, use fresh-squeezed lime juice.
- Agave: This ingredient adds sweetness to the cocktail. Many strawberry daiquiris are made with simple syrup but I prefer using agave instead.
- Ice: Plenty of ice blended with the other ingredients makes this frozen strawberry daiquiri extra refreshing.

Expert Tips
- Experiment with different types of rums. I prefer using white rum when making a strawberry daiquiri, but also try a dark rum or a spiced rum for a different flavor.
- Although this is a strawberry daiquiri recipe, consider using blueberries, cherries, or peaches instead of strawberries.
- Always taste the daiquiri and adjust the ingredient amounts if you feel it's necessary.
Frequently Asked Questions
To make a non-alcoholic strawberry daiquiri, use Sprite, 7-up, or another lemon-lime soda instead of the rum, and leave out the triple sec.
Another idea is to add apple juice or orange juice instead of rum. This gives the virgin daiquiri another layer of delicious flavor!
Absolutely, if you'd like to make two frozen strawberry daiquiris, just double the ingredient amounts.
How To Freeze Strawberries
Knowing how to freeze strawberries means that you can use your summer fruit for months after you've picked or purchased them. Strawberries freeze well and that means you can use them in this frozen daiquiri or in milkshakes year-round.
- Freeze them individually. You can freeze strawberries individually before storing them in the freezer. First, wash the strawberries. I usually use a vinegar wash to clean the pesticide residue off strawberries that were commercially produced. In a bowl, mix four parts water with one part apple cider vinegar or white vinegar, then let the strawberries soak in the bowl for 20 minutes. Rinse the strawberries thoroughly with fresh cold water to remove the vinegar. You can also clean strawberries by rinsing each berry thoroughly under cold, running tap water. Place the strawberries in a colander, then gently rub each strawberry to remove any dirt. Pat the strawberries dry with a paper towel. To freeze strawberries individually after washing, hull the berries by cutting off the top section with the green leaves. When the berries are dry, lay them out on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet with a little bit of space between each berry. Place them in the freezer for one hour. Once partially frozen, transfer the berries to an airtight container or a freezer bag and store in the freezer.
- Freeze strawberries in clusters. This is the easiest way to freeze strawberries. Hull the berries and allow them to dry. Next, place the berries in a freezer bag and store in the freezer.
Tips For Freezing Strawberries
- Hull the strawberries before freezing them.
- Store the berries in airtight containers like freezer bags. This will prevent freezer burn caused by air getting into the strawberries.
- Strawberries will keep well in the freezer for up to 12 months. Be sure to label your container with the date so you can keep track of how long they've been frozen.
Ways To Thaw Frozen Strawberries
- Use the microwave. This is the quickest way to thaw strawberries. Place the berries in a microwave-safe bowl, put them in the microwave, and use the defrost function. Check the berries at the one-minute mark to see whether they are defrosted. Continue to check at 30-second intervals.
- Defrost in a water basin. Thaw frozen berries by placing the bag they are stored in inside a large bowl filled with cold water. They should thaw within 30 minutes.
- Defrost at room temperature. Let the strawberries thaw on a plate at room temperature. This may take a few hours.
