I’m so happy to be partnering with Hamilton Beach on this post. Thank you so much for supporting the brands we so carefully choose to work with.  All opinions expressed are our own.

We’ve had our first taste of spring weather this past week and let me tell you, it was glorious! Blue skies, birds chirping, the perfect temperature – everyone was outside and loving it.

This time of the year, the weather could go either way here in Texas. It can be cool one day and warm the next but one thing that’s certain, summer is on the way.

When the folks at Hamilton Beach asked me if I would like to try their Indoor Searing Grill, I knew right away that I wanted to. Although we are blessed with fair temperatures most of the year and can grill often, sometimes the intense Texas heat or a rain-filled day prevents us from doing so.

This compact indoor grill is also the perfect size for someone cooking for one. The adjustable temperature control ranges from 200° to high searing temperature of 450º. Lights indicate when the power is on and the grill has reached your selected temperature.

The nonstick cooking plate removes for easy cleanup in the dishwasher and the removable hood and integrated drip tray are both dishwasher safe too.

Last weekend we grilled steaks and they were fabulous. The high searing temperature locks in juices and flavors and the unique hood gives food that authentic outdoor grilled taste.

In addition to cooking the main course on the grill, I love to make easy dessert recipes on the grill too. Grilled pound cake is one of my favorite desserts to make, especially when we’re entertaining. It’s not only an easy recipe to serve a crowd but it’s delightful to enjoy when you’re cooking for one.

Store-bought pound cake is perfect for this easy recipe. Two slices cut to about 1-inch thickness and buttered, then placed on the grill for 1-2 minutes each side.

Next, cut a banana in half lengthwise, leaving the peel on. Lightly brush with butter and place the banana cut side down on the grill. Cover and grill for 3 minutes, then turn the banana over and brush with limoncello. Grill for 5 minutes longer.

  1. I have never used an indoor grill before, but I’m excited at the thought of it! I love to grill chicken and steaks. I’ve been afraid to try to grill fish on a traditional outdoor grill for fear it will fall apart, but I’d love to try it on an indoor grill! Oh, the possibilities!

  2. I love making s’mores on the grill! 🙂 And of course, hamburgers and hot dogs. I made some grilled vegetable kebab things one time and they were pretty good too!

  3. This would be perfect for me. I’m a widow and an indoor grill would be perfect. Slowly working my way through your recipes for one but would love if you would publish a cookbook!!

  4. As a caregiver for my husband I can’t go outside to use the grill as often as I would like. This indoor grill would solve that problem!

  5. I love that indoor grill! I have a panini press that also lays flat like a grill but I don’t get nearly the level of grill marks that you did. The combo of the bananas and the pound cake sound divine. I’ve got to try them out for a quick comforting dessert!

  6. We love to grill all kinds of these. Other than the usual meat and fish, grilled fruit and grilled angel food cake are favorites.

  7. This grilled pound cake looks incredibly good! I love how simple it is to make and that it can be made in single servings. This way I won’t be tempted to eat more than one slice at a time!

  8. Oh my goodness that looks so delicious! I have never tried grilling sweets. My favorite thing to grill lately has totally been asparagus!

  9. You can’t go wrong with pound cake and fruit! It was such a great idea to grill both the cake and bananas. Looks amazing. Will have to try it the next time we buy pound cake.

  10. I love grilling meat, seafood, vegetable and would love to try grilling fruit and other dessert related items. The Hamilton Beach Indoor Searing Grill would be fabulous to use year round, would be more environmentally friendly and much easier to use than a conventional outdoor grill.
