Ingredients

If you have any ingredients leftover from this tropical smoothie recipe, check out our Leftover Ingredients Recipe Finder.

  • Pineapple: Fresh pineapple is delicious but frozen is perfect for a thick, frosty smoothie.
  • Banana: Adds creaminess and natural sweetness. Freeze it ahead of time for extra chill. Got extra bananas? Use one in Banana Nut Bread, Banana Cream Pie, or Banana Pancakes.
  • Yogurt: Use regular or Greek yogurt. Use unsweetened varieties for more sweetness control. Dairy-free options work too! Leftover yogurt can be added to a Fruit Quesadilla or Overnight Oats
  • Coconut milk: Creates a rich, tropical base. Other kinds of milk are fine if you prefer. Use any leftover coconut milk in Chocolate Coffee Creamer or a Mocha Oatmeal Bowl.
  • Honey: Adds a touch of sweetness. Maple syrup or agave work too.

Recipe Variations

  • Strawberry-Banana: Swap the pineapple for strawberries.
  • Peach Mango: This combo is a summer delight!
  • Green Tropical: Add a handful of spinach or kale for an extra-nutritious boost.
  • Piña Colada: Use pineapple juice instead of milk and add a splash of rum extract (omit for an alcohol-free version).

During this pandemic, I am experiment with recipes to help with weight loss. This is so good. Although I didn’t use the whip cream it was still great. Thank you for the recipe

  2. Peggy says:

I have never used Coconut milk, what section of the Grocery Store do you find this. This sounds so delish. Thanks!

    1. Joanie Zisk says:

      Hi Peggy,
You can find coconut milk in the refrigerator section of the grocery store. It should be near the cow’s milk and soy milks. You can actually use any type of milk in this recipe but I happen to love the flavor the coconut milk adds to it.
