A frozen chocolate banana makes the perfect treat! Made with just one banana, chocolate and sprinkles for fun. So easy to make and the perfect cure for a sweet craving.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper.
Peel the banana and cut it in half. Insert a popsicle stick, straw, or similar into each banana half.
Place the banana halves on a baking sheet and freeze for about 30 minutes.
Melt the chocolate: Add chocolate chips and vegetable oil or avocado oil to a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for about 20 seconds. Stir and let it sit for about 5 minutes to continue melting. Stir until fully melted.
Dip each banana half into the melted chocolate. If the bowl isn’t deep enough, use a spoon to drizzle chocolate over the banana.
Add your toppings while the chocolate is still wet.
Freeze again until firm.
Notes
Choose Ripe Bananas: Ripe bananas are sweeter and have a better texture for freezing.
Melt Chocolate Slowly: Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring in between to prevent burning.
Freeze Banana First: For best results, freeze the banana before dipping it in chocolate. This helps the chocolate set faster.
Use Parchment Paper: Place the dipped banana on parchment paper to prevent sticking while the chocolate sets.
Add Toppings Quickly: If using sprinkles or other toppings, add them immediately after dipping the banana in chocolate before it hardens.
