A frozen chocolate banana makes the perfect treat! Made with just one banana, chocolate and sprinkles for fun. So easy to make and the perfect cure for a sweet craving.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper.
Cut the banana in half and insert a popsicle stick, sturdy plastic straw or chopstick in each half. Place them on the baking sheet and freeze for 30 minutes.
In a microwave safe bowl, heat the chocolate and oil for 20 seconds (depending on microwave strength). Most of the chocolate chips should be melted. If not, heat for a few seconds longer.
Stir and let sit for 5 minutes for the remaining chocolate to melt.
Roll each banana half in the melted chocolate, then quickly sprinkle with the topping (if using).
Place the banana back on the baking sheet and freeze until the chocolate sets, about 20 minutes. Serve or freeze in an airtight container for up to a week.

Expert Tips
Be sure to use perfectly yellow bananas for this recipe. If the banana is too ripe, it will be harder to work with.
Insert the popsicle stick before you freeze the bananas. Adding the stick after the banana is frozen will cause the banana to split.
Freeze the banana before and after you dip in the melted chocolate.
